Windows App Studio is Sunset–How Does This Affect You

As of September of this year, Windows App Studio’s Dynamic Collection API has stopped broadcasting, removing the content of many apps, including HaloVerse. Unfortunately, the rapid sunset process has removed the ability to edit and fix the Windows 8.1 version of the app. This has finalized a decision that we here at Escapee Studios have been contemplating lately, which is to deprecate the HaloVerse 8.1 app. At some point, we may once again offer support for the old platform, but all we can do for now is remove the app from the Windows 8.1 Store, which we have done, and recommend that you upgrade to Windows 10 or buy a new PC. Windows 10 Home is now $119.99, and you can purchase Windows 10 as a USB stick or as a download from here. Answer the questionnaire on the site and get the best Windows ever.

This event also affects Windows 10 customers. We have published a fix, and it is available as a free update from the Windows Store. This new update stored app data in the app, which improves speed and app performance, but now requires that the app be updated every time new data is added. This also causes HaloVerse to take up a little more space on your drive.

Thank you for your continued support, and make sure to share your HaloVerse enthusiasm at this address or through the Feedback Hub. Feel free to leave a review!
